She is self-empowered
She is self-content
She is strong and fearless
She blossoms into a full-bloomed WOMAN “Ringphoudi”.

This brand is a tribute to my great-grandmother, who was an epitome of brilliance, grace, and strength.

A figure of the old generation but embodies the soul of the present women. Be a political leader, a striving office worker, or a homemaker, women today fearlessly face the world and make it their own.

ABOUT US

The main motive behind this brand is to make the handloom of the Dimasas (an indigenous community from Assam) known and available to the people nationwide

Ringphoudi strives to bring recognition and appreciation to the weavers of this particular community for their excellence in craftsmanship.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Meet the founder, Nayanika Borphukan, a handloom enthusiast and a lover of fashion who is a postgraduate in M.Design from the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bengaluru.

Nayanika always wanted to start something of her own from the very beginning and what would have been better than opening a brand which would not only be something that she would love but also help her do her part for the handloom of the Dimasa Community.

As her mother belongs to the Dimasa Community, she was always in touch with the beautiful and vibrant hand-woven clothing but only came to understand its uniqueness and speciality while doing her thesis on the handloom of Dimasa community due to her keen interest.

So, this is when she decided to get the clothing seen and appreciated by the people outside her state through her brand “Ringphoudi” which is her great-grandmother’s name who herself was a talented weaver and a woman of many talents.

So, be a part of her journey to provide you with exquisite and intricately hand-woven dimasa sarees and rigu (mekhela) chadors woven by the talented dimasa weavers whose motifs and colours have been customized by Nayanika herself making every clothing piece unique and special in its own way
